Volunteers Week is a special time for us at Rethink Food—a week dedicated to celebrating the incredible efforts and contributions of our volunteers. These dedicated individuals are the backbone of our organisation, working tirelessly to help us fight food insecurity and promote sustainability.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life, united by a common purpose: to make a positive impact in our communities. Whether they’re sorting donations or distributing food to those in need, their efforts are vital.
Every day, volunteers help us rescue surplus food from local businesses, farms, and retailers. This food, which would otherwise go to waste, is sorted and redistributed to food banks, and community centres. Their hard work ensures that thousands of individuals and families have access to nutritious meals.
Volunteers Week is not just a celebration of our current volunteers but also an invitation for others to get involved. If you’ve ever considered volunteering, now is the perfect time to join us. Your time and skills can make a real difference in the lives of others and help us build a more sustainable and equitable food system.
To all our volunteers at Rethink Food: thank you. Your hard work, dedication, and compassion are the driving force behind everything we do. Here’s to you—our everyday heroes.
