Rethink Food has launched an exciting new Eco Competition, offering £1,000 to the school with the most impactful sustainability idea – helping young people turn their vision into reality.
Open to Eco Clubs and School Councils across the UK, this competition is designed to empower students to take meaningful action on sustainability within their schools and communities.
Thanks to Savills, the competition provides an exciting opportunity for students to develop eco-friendly projects, applying their knowledge in real-world ways.
How the Competition Works:
✔ Schools complete six interactive sessions as part of the Agents of Change – Eco Club programme, learning about sustainability and environmental action.
✔ Students submit their big idea – how would they make their school more eco-friendly with £1,000?
✔ The winning school receives £1,000 to bring their idea to life, announced on World Environment Day (5th June 2025).
“This competition is about inspiring the next generation of environmental leaders,” said Kevin Mackay, Co-Founder of Rethink Food. “We want to give students the knowledge, tools, and funding to make a real difference in their schools, tackling issues like food waste, biodiversity, and climate action.”
While Savills has generously funded this competition, Rethink Food is calling on other businesses and organisations to support sustainability initiatives in schools.
“There is huge potential for businesses to make a tangible impact by supporting programmes like this,” added Kevin. “By investing in young people and environmental education, companies can play a vital role in creating a healthier, more sustainable future.”
Companies interested in partnering with Rethink Food to expand this initiative are encouraged to get in touch.
Schools can register now and access free resources to kick-start their Eco journey.
Let’s empower students, inspire change, and build a greener future together!
