We’re thrilled to share that Rethink Food has been selected as a finalist in the Smiley Charity Film Awards 2026 for our film about the National School Pantry Network…a recognition that celebrates impact, creativity and stories that drive social change.

The Smiley Charity Film Awards highlight the power of film to tell authentic stories that inspire and mobilise communities. Being named a finalist is an incredible honour and reflects the hard work and heart of everyone involved in the National School Pantry Network, from schools and families, to partners and supporters who believe in a future where no child grows up hungry.

The film tells the story of how the National School Pantry Network is responding to food insecurity with dignity, innovation and community-led solutions. Schools are doing so much already, yet support is often informal, under-resourced, and at risk of burnout. Through the Network, we’re building a sustainable model that provides consistent food access, educational resources and a community of support, all grounded in respect and choice.

This recognition isn’t just for us, it’s for the teachers, families, volunteers, businesses and changemakers who are making this work possible. It’s proof that when we share stories with honesty and heart, we can shift understanding, ignite compassion and inspire change.

A second round of public voting opens on 25 February, giving us the opportunity to amplify our message even further.  We’ll be sharing details and voting links across our social channels, so please keep an eye out and help us rally support when voting opens.

Thank you to Smiley Movement for this honour, and to every person who shared their voice, their courage, and their story. We’ll be cheering loudly at the awards and we hope you will too.

Let’s keep telling stories that matter.
